Unlocking Insights: Exploring Our Case Study and Uncovering Key Learnings

ADA parking compliance is a term used to describe the guidelines set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for parking spaces.

These guidelines require that parking spaces be accessible to individuals with disabilities, and include features such as designated parking spots, ramps, and signage.

If a business is not ADA compliant, they may be subject to legal penalties. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is responsible for enforcing the ADA and can file lawsuits against businesses that are not in compliance. Businesses that are found to be in violation of the ADA may be required to pay fines, make changes to their facilities, or both.

Challenge

A contractor damaged multiple areas of pavement throughout an HOA neighborhood. The HOA contacted Top Job to repair the areas. It was discovered that the HOA had been spending $20,000 - $30,000 every couple of years patching and sealing the roads, which were aging badly.

As the roads aged, the HOA was throwing more and more money at maintenance and repairs, and with each passing year, full replacement was further out of reach

Solution

The needed repairs covered by the contractor combined with the regularly scheduled maintenance more than covered the cost to repave half the HOA, getting them out of the maintenance rut, and drastically reducing their annual maintenance costs. Top Job developed a maintenance plan to keep the potholes filled while maximizing savings and budget to finish repaving the HOA.

Summary

It is hard to decide when and how to transition from preventative maintenance to minimal repairs in order to free up funds to save and budget for replacement. Top Job was able to evaluate the pavement, run ROI scenarios, and help the customer get out from behind the asphalt eight ball.
