Are you considering an asphalt paving project for your home or business? Asphalt can provide a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing surface to enhance the look and feel of an outdoor space. If you have questions about asphalt paving, then you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions related to asphalt paving projects.

Q: How long will my asphalt last?

A: Properly installed and maintained, asphalt pavements can last up to 20 years or more. The key is performing regular maintenance on your pavement, such as crack filling and sealcoating every two to three years. Doing so helps protect the surface from damage caused by UV rays and water penetration. Additionally, it ensures that your pavement looks great for many years.

Q: What type of maintenance is required for my asphalt pavement?

A: As mentioned above, regular crack sealing and sealcoating are essential for extending the life of your pavement. Additionally, it’s important to regularly inspect your pavement for signs of wear and tear and repair any damage as soon as possible to prevent further deterioration. Finally, remove any debris or snow from the surface immediately after a storm or other weather event to ensure that no damage is done over time.

Q: What should I look for when hiring an asphalt contractor?

A: When searching for an experienced contractor who specializes in asphalt paving work, there are several things you should consider before making a decision. First off, check out their portfolio of completed projects; this will give you a good sense of their quality of workmanship. Additionally, ask them if they are licensed and insured—this ensures that they are legally allowed to perform the work at hand while also protecting yourself from any potential liabilities due to accidents or damages on-site. Lastly, determine what warranties are available for their services.

Q:  How much does an asphalt paving project cost?

A: The cost of an asphalt paving project can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the job. Additional materials or services may also be needed, so it’s important to get quotes from multiple contractors before making a decision. Factors such as the size of the area that needs to be paved, as well as any additional materials or services needed, should all be taken into account when determining the overall cost of the project.

Q: How much experience does an asphalt contractor have?

A: It’s important to note that not all asphalt contractors are equal. When selecting a contractor, make sure they have ample experience with asphalt-paving projects, as this will ensure they can get the job done right. You should also ask for references from previous customers and read reviews online to get an idea of their level of expertise and customer service.

Q: What are your tips for extending the life of an asphalt surface?

A: One of the most important tips is to make sure that your pavement is properly compacted and rolled. This helps to ensure a strong base and prevent cracking or other damage. Additionally, it’s important to use quality asphalt mix when laying down the surface material as this will help create a more durable, long-lasting asphalt surface. Finally, be sure to perform regular maintenance such as crack filling and sealcoating every two to five years to extend the life of your asphalt pavement for many years to come.

Q: Should I use sealcoating or simply fill cracks in my pavement instead?

A: While it’s important to fill cracks in your pavement, sealcoating is also important as it helps to protect the surface from UV rays and water penetration. Additionally, sealcoating can help fill small cracks and make your pavement look like new again. Therefore, it is recommended that both crack filling and sealcoating are done every two to five years.

Q: Does the grade and slope of my terrain affect how well the asphalt will hold up over time?

A: Yes, the grade and slope of your terrain will play a vital role in how well the asphalt will hold up over time. For example, if an area has too much of an incline then it can put more stress on the pavement and cause premature cracking or other damage. Therefore, it’s important to make sure that your surface is properly graded and sloped to ensure a long-lasting asphalt pavement.

I’m not sure how the service actually is, but some old guy in a Top Job Toyota was riding my butt today and flipped me off, or it was maybe an aggressive wave at the red light near the Logan library. Hope his day gets better. 12/8 at 230

Did a great job on the 3" overlay for my very old and deteriorated half circle driveway. Looks brand new. All the transitions to concrete are near perfectly matched when I wasn't sure they could do it. It's almost weird now not feeling the bump driving out of the garage or over our bridge.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Very impressed with the quality of their work and the organization of the company. The project estimator was spot on as to when the bid would be received and the work was professional  from start to finish. I appreciated the opportunity for a walkthrough inspection after the crack filling was completed as I had some very large cracks in the asphalt. I give this company a ten out of ten (which I really do) and highly recommend them.
